This place has sort of an unusual set-up, but in a pinch at night time- I trust the doc with all of my dogs. He has helped me save a puppy with pravo (breeder lied about vax) with holistic medicine. The medicine is also kind of strange because it comes in a glass bottle and glass vile... But if you listen to what he says... Your dog's got as good of a chance as the $1000/visit places. Just a little bit unorthodox. Seeing that there's a bunch of bad reviews, I don't think people know that Dr Tran is A holistic doctor, meaning he doesn't use the same typical testing or medications to treat dogs.
Do not take your pet here. Affordable walk in cost, treatment not so much. This is not an ordinary vet ! The vet makes his own medication, over $500 for hydration, sedation, blood test. Got sent home with a mystery canibonoid. My cat terrified the whole time was made to hold him down. Final diagnosis kidney cancer, very strange, what it actually, an intestinal blockage. My baby passed 2 days later being too late then to take care of the blockage. Constipation was diagnosed (not as what was causing illness) Got sent home with a human enema that is toxic to cats …. Everyday I wish even with the emergency situation I took time to read reviews.
This is our second time seeing Dr Tran. The first time, nothing but positive reviews from us, he was quick, got our dog into surgery and we were on our way within 5 hours. However over the weekend I took my 16 week old puppy in and it was a bit different. I told Dr Tran I think he had a blockage, and after exam, he agreed. Never once did he say lets do surgery to get it out until we left. While I respect that he tried everything before surgery on such a young dog, ultimately him not doing the surgery cost our Smore to pass away. Maybe I should of pushed it, but lets be honest that the odds of a very sick 16 week old puppy making a full recovery from all of his organs being cut open and cleaned is very risky and Dr Tran felt confident that he could pass it at home. After we left of office, smore did seen to perk up, but the next morning was back to being sick, its also my fault that I didn't take him in again sooner. When we got to a 2nd emergency vet, he had already passed. I cant say if we would ever go back again, but I do believe that Dr Tran had everyone's best interests and its call medical practice, no human or vet doctor is going to make the right call everytime. Right now we are just heart broken and trying to make sense of all of it.
They saw us late on a Sunday. The only vet that would see our ferrets in an emergency. Truly care about animals and good people.
Our experience here was awful. The facility was dirty. Most of the medicine and bottles you saw just laying around were in browned, aged, dirty, unmarked bottles. We took our dog in because he had eaten a corn cob and was at risk of having a blockage due to this. The doctor was very unfriendly. He had us hold our terrified dog down on the table for 20+ minutes while he held his head over a trash can and put medicine from an unmarked bottle in his eyes. He explained nothing to us. His receptionist is the one who was trying to give us medical advice and talk to us as this was happening. Dr. Tran tried to give our dog a second dose of medicine in his eyes and got very mad at us when we started asking questions. We asked if another dose was safe for his size (they never weighed him or asked his weight or anything). He then started yelling at us that he’s never lost a dog in 50 years, that we think he doesn’t know what he’s doing and that we don’t trust him, etc. All while this is happening, his receptionist is telling us how a dose that size would kill her own dog, which is totally not what someone in our situation needed to hear at the time when we were already feeling so awful about still being in this doctor’s care. We didn’t let him give our dog another dose and we were just about to leave to take him to a different facility when our dog finally threw up the corn cob. That was the most disheartening vet visit I’ve ever had anywhere. We just kept thinking the whole time that we made the wrong decision in bringing our dog here. We will be taking our dog to his normal veterinary office today to get rechecked out just because we trust this vet’s office that little. 0/10 experience, we will never be back.
